Diocesan Pilgrimage to Hexham March 19th Creativity day on the Psalms April 9th, 9am to 12.30 pm (you don't have to come to the whole morning)
During the week of 3rd to 10th April, our local churches will be taking part with other churches in the Diocese in reading the whole Bible. We are ending our week with a special creativity morning together at St George’s. There will be workshops all morning, and you can come and go as you like. There will be refreshments all morning too. The morning will end with a short time of worship suitable for all ages at about noon, which may include some of what has been created as part of the morning’s workshops. All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is free, but if you would like, you can bring something to share for elevensies & if you want to can make a small contribution towards any materials you use. Workshops are planned to include exploring the psalms through photography (bring your own camera), art, poetry, music, Bible study.
Performing Mark’s Gospel Autumn 2011 Anyone can get involved! Many of us don’t often read the Bible out loud unless we’re on the rota at church, but for lots of people over many hundreds of years only ever read the Bible out loud, even when they were alone. (Bible fact fans, this might well be what’s happening with the Ethiopian in Acts 8.) When we speak the words of the Bible aloud, particularly when we have learnt by heart first, it really changes the way we understand them, and it can change us too. This autumn, we are going to perform the Gospel of Mark together, so we need lots of volunteers. Whether you can read or not, as long as you are prepared to learn even a short part of the story & speak it aloud (even just a single line), you can be part of performing the gospel. There will be help and advice given too. To give you plenty of time to learn your section, we’re getting organised now, so if you are interested, please let Brett or Norman in the office know. This will be something special to be a part of. Don’t miss out on being involved.
